The Cucharas River Trail is a joint project between the Town of La Veta and La Veta Trails to create public access to the river through a trail connecting town-owned open spaces which will be developed and along town right-of-way and designed to support bicycling and walking at different interest levels to appeal to a broad spectrum of ages, abilities and users.
The La Veta Playground Initiative is a collaboration of the Town of La Veta, La Veta Trails, and the La Veta Library to build a new playground for the town park.
La Veta Trails and our partners work to restore and preserve parks, open spaces, and trails through projects to address a backlog of maintenance issues, age, weather-related damage, and over-use. By working together to improve and restore public spaces, we safeguard public access to natural areas.
La Veta Trails works with our partners to organize and implement regular maintenance to preserve trail and natural areas for the public to enjoy.
We will improve the descriptive information we provide so outdoor recreational users with disabilities can make informed decisions about using a trail. We will explore different methods to assess and rate the School Nature Trail, for example, and use what we learn to publish digital and paper trail guides and audio versions of signs.
