The School Nature Trail is .25 miles long in a 3-acre park. It is an interpretive loop trail with stone dust surface with a slight rise to the painted benches. The trail meanders through the park, passing information kiosks and plant identification markers. There is a beautiful view of the park and Mt. Maestas and mountains to the north from the top.
The trail is managed by La Veta Trails on behalf of the Town of La Veta.
Location: Southeast corner of E. Garland St. and Birch St. in La Veta
The trail head with parking is located on the southeast corner of E. Garland St. and Birch St. in La Veta.
Hiking. No bikes, horses, or motorized vehicles are allowed.
Dogs are welcome but are required to be on leash in the Town of La Veta.
Native wildflowers will be added over time.
