La Veta Trails Mission

La Veta Trails is a 501(c)3 nonprofit founded in 2015 to develop and maintain parks and trails systems in Huerfano County that connect people of all ages and abilities to the outdoors, inspire volunteerism, and contribute to the health and economic vitality of the region.

Our Goals

Transform La Veta into a healthier community through trails, active transportation, conservation, and organized outdoor experiences for people of all ages and abilities.

Connect

Connect trail users and supporters to the beauty, character and history of the area.

Engage

Engage partners, neighbors, youth, and businesses in trail building initiatives.

Stewardship

Provide the volunteer stewardship for the construction and maintenance of trails.

Preserve

Develop, maintain, preserve and promote a network of multi-use trails for the purposes of recreation, conservation, education and inspiration.
